The Protagonist Lead Analyst has a passion for understanding the beliefs -- the narratives -- that drive critical issues and applying the power of data to delight customers. The Lead Analyst drives the delivery of high quality, actionable Narrative Analytics products, and ensures customer satisfaction that leads to repeat business. The Lead Analyst has outstanding analytical skills, excellent customer facing skills, and is creative and enthusiastic about using technology, data, and the power of narratives to solve complex problems. Reporting to a Director of Customer Solutions, the Lead Analyst collaborates with colleagues across Protagonist and interfaces directly with our customers.

Primary Responsibilities
 
Data Analytics  
  • Lead the analysis and visualization of qualitative and quantitative data inputs to create compelling, high-value deliverables that address customers’ complex problems
  • Creatively utilize a variety of tools, technologies, and innovative methods to provide information and insights, address customer needs, and create efficiencies
  • Support the testing and roll-out of new tools and technologies that address customer needs
Strategy Consulting
  • Establish a trusted advisor relationship with customers, based on a deep and thorough understanding of the problems the customer is trying to solve, creative and effective solutions to those problems, and a demonstrated commitment to making the client successful
  • Translate data analysis into compelling story leading to differentiated recommendations that customers can put into action
  • Lead teams to creatively apply Narrative Analytics capabilities to solve each customer’s unique problem
Engagement  Management
  • Develop and manage project plans; keep tasks on track and ensure deadlines are met
  • Manage work streams and team outputs to deliver Narrative Analytics to our customers
  • Support the coaching and development of junior analysts and oversee their work as they surface and visualize insights and translate them into recommendations
Customer Relationship
  • Create compelling, high-impact solution deliverables  that address customers’ complex problems in a differentiated way
  • Deliver findings in customer meetings in a way that demonstrates commitment to the customer’s business problem, strategic acumen and data analysis expertise
  • Build strong relationships with customers to deliver value and help grow long-term relationships that result in  new business
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify, evaluate, and pursue new opportunities with customers

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years experience with a top tier consultancy or professional services firm or in a data driven position in market research, brand management, digital marketing, strategic communications, or customer insights
  • 2+ years experience in a customer-facing role managing work streams and project teams on data-driven projects
  • Strong data analyst skills, with an understanding of how to synthesize data for communications, marketing, and business operations and strategy
  • Proven ability to develop work streams and drive tasks to successful completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills; able to communicate complex concepts with clarity to a wide range of customers and at all levels of an organization and to a broad range of clients
  • Ability to translate business objectives into analytic solutions, develop work streams and drive agendas forward
  • Ability to translate analytic insights into business outcomes for our customers
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team
  • Flexible and able to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, with the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
